cel volunteers together with their children visit "lifeline express" eye-train hospital in heilongjiang
31 july to 4 august 2015 - 15 volunteers from china everbright limited (“cel”, stock code: 165.hk) together with their children visited the cataract patients of “lifeline express” eye-train hospital in qiqihar city, heilongjiang and had a gathering with the students in the rural region. volunteers also had a sharing session with the medical practitioners in the eye-train hospital.
it is the second consecutive year that cel carried out parent-child volunteer visiting program for both hong kong and mainland staff. during the 5-day trip, volunteers have deepened their understanding on the services provided by lifeline express which cel is one of the main sponsors. also, the kids can have a real life experience for poverty through the visits to the needy families in mainland china, which can nurture their kindness to people, and inspire them to cherish their health and happiness. it was full of fun and laughter during the trip, both the volunteers and their children enjoyed themselves very much.
as a long term and an important supporting organisation of lifeline express, china everbright charitable foundation has sponsored its fund raising gala dinner for 4 consecutive years and actively supports its charitable development throughout all these years.
cel is a corporation committed to corporate social responsibility. in the past few years, cel has organised a number of volunteer services including a visit to elderly home, special children care centre, sheltered workshop, participation in everbright project’s large-scale activity and “sowers action challenging”, as well as had the parent-child visiting program to lifeline express eye-train hospital in shandong. all these activities received good response and support from cel staff. cel will organise similar activities in the future and hope that these volunteer services can provide opportunities for its staff to serve the community in leisure time.
