    managing director of walden international

    dr. hing wong is the managing director of walden international. he has 12 years’ experience in venture capital industry and 15 years’ experience in corporate operation focusing on semi industry investment. he worked at ibm, chromatic research and co-funded silicon access networks, a network ic company where he served as vp vlsi design and later in vp business development. he was named best investor of the year 2013 by hua yuan science and technology association. dr. wong holds ph.d. degree in electrical machinery from uc berkeley from uc berkeley.

    dr. robert yung is the partner of walden international. he served as senior executive and investment partner in the semiconductor and telecom industries for 25 years, and was the executive vice chairman of dji, executive vice president and chief strategy officer of adi, chief technology officer and evp of pmcs and tessera, cto for intel enterprise group, intel communication group, and intel china. he was ultraspac chief architect and cto of sun microsystem. dr. yung was a founding partner of gsr ventures, and served as the counselor in warburg pincus, llc. in 2000, he was named to the world economic forum's “top 100 global leaders for tomorrow,” in davos, switzerland. robert was named to the national committee of u.s.-china relations as a fellow during the inaugural young leader forum in 2002. he also served as a member of national science foundation in u.s., the china foreign expert group and the china national science foundation. robert is the inventor of 70 issued and more than 20 pending patents. he holds ba in computer science, ms and ph.d. degree in electrical engineering and computer sciences from uc berkeley.

    dr. polly peng is the partner of walden international. she has over 15 years of finance, capital market, and investment experience. prior to joining walden, polly served on the board of multi-national advisory company, responsible for capital market strategy, international trade, and cross border m&a. she also served as vice president of finance and corporate investment in large state-owned enterprises. dr. peng participated in several cross border chinese deals including ups, fuji, and hainan airline. she holds ph.d. in economic from nankai university.

    dr. steve fu is the partner of walden international. he has built a career appreciably increasing corporate value through technology investments and incubation, m&a and restructuring. he was the chief strategy officer of fairchild semiconductors and led fairchild’s central r&d teams, new business incubation, partnerships, restructuring and acquisitions. steve drove all phases of fairchild’s merger process culminating in the acquisition by on semiconductor for $2.4 billion which closed september 2016. fairchild saw close to 3x appreciation in stock value during his tenure there. prior to joining fairchild, dr. fu drove corporate strategy development of maxim integrated products as well as vmware’s desktop virtualization business, a leading enterprise software company. steve’s work culminated in 10 successful acquisitions, which accelerated maxim and vmware’s entries into fast-growing markets and significant stock price appreciation. maxim and vmware experienced gains of close to 4x and 6x appreciation in stock value during his tenure. during the last four years of dr. fu’s eleven-year career at cisco, he developed and executed strategies for cisco’s strategic semiconductor practice and emerging technology, consumer, and china investments. fu’s work culminated in more than 15 minority investments, and 10 successful acquisitions. he holds ph.d. in electrical engineering from stanford university, bsee from uc berkeley and is a recipient of the president’s scholarship.

    mr. tong zhang is the partner of walden international. he was executive director in private equity branch of ccb trust, heading the tmt investments and oversea m&a. tony also worked with pmc-sierra, conexant and nxp in executive roles covering marketing, r&d and general management of business division with full p&l responsibility. earlier, he was the co-founder of nsbic, a networking system startup and founding member of tsinghua university new millennium fund. mr. zhang holds b.s. degree in ee from tsinghua university, m.s. degree in ee from university of hawaii-manoa and executive mba degree from china europe international business school.
