everbright volunteers visit pok oi hospital after school care service centre

21 march 2014 afternoon – everbright’s volunteer team visited pok oi hospital mrs lee ho siu fong memorial children and families development centre located in tuen mun. this centre provides services mainly to the children from grassroots families which cannot afford to pay for leisure activities and tuition classes. through visiting the centre, the volunteers showed their care and love to the children and taught them simple english vocabularies through activities. it was full of fun and laughter on the day, both the volunteers and children enjoyed themselves very much.

in 2013, everbright has organised a number of volunteer services including a visit to elderly home, special children centre, sheltered workshop, participation in everbright project’s large-scale activity and “sowers action challenging”. all these activities received good response and support from everbright staff. from our post-event questionnaires, children related volunteer activities are most popular among the interviewees, therefore the theme of 2014 volunteer services is set to be “children caring”, and more children related volunteer works will be organised within this year. everbright hopes that these volunteer services can provide opportunities for its staff to serve the community.

moreover, through china everbright charitable foundation, everbright has sponsored a number of long-term social service projects in the past years, for details please refer to:
