china everbright charitable foundation supports central conservatory of music (hk) foundation’s charity concert: “strings journey” with the chu yi-bing cello ensemble and lu siqing

the performance of “strings journey” by the chu yi-bing cello ensemble and lu siqing, fully supported by the china everbright charitable foundation, was held at hong kong city hall on 15 july 2012.
chu yi-bing and his cello ensemble, violinist lu siqing and pianist dr. cheng wai played a selection of well-known music, including die fledermaus overture by johnn strauss ii, rossini’s william tell overture, and the 2008 olympic theme song “you and me”. the performance was well received by the audience and the performers took several curtain calls, playing three more famous songs.
remarking on the success of the event, the china everbright charitable foundation said that the hong kong audience enjoyed one of the most sophisticated musical programmes in china and were able to relax by listening to the beautiful music. the concert also helped the central conservatory of music (hk) foundation raise funds used to discover and train talented chinese musicians with potential and for, more generally, promoting the development of the chinese music industry.
