successful conclusion of the 16th “goforisrael – china - israel investment summit forum” in shanghai jointly held by china everbright limited & its israeli partners

china everbright limited (“cel”, stock code: 165.hk) along with cel- catalyst china israel fund (“ccf”), cukierman & co. investment house limited and yafo capital is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the 16th “goforisrael – china - israel investment summit forum” held in shanghai on 20 september 2016.
 
this was the first time the conference was held outside of israel with strong support from the israeli and the chinese government. the conference had more than 1,500 participants coming from many countries including usa, canada, holland, france, singapore, japan and hong kong with over 100 israeli start-ups and companies taking part.
 
amongst many key speakers, this year’s conference, also welcomed ambassador matan vilnai, israeli ambassador to people’s republic of china, ambassador amikam levy, consul general to shanghai for the state of israel, chief scientist prof. alexander bligh from the ministry of science, technology and space of israel, ms. einat lev, consulate general of israel in shanghai, head of economic and trade mission to east china, ms. lu zufang, deputy district mayor of shanghai jiading district people’s government, mr. chen shuang, executive director and chief executive officer of china everbright limited, mr. roger cukierman, vice president of the world jewish congress, and mr. yair shamir, former minister of agriculture in israel.

mr. edouard cukierman, managing partner of ccf, opened the forum on tuesday, 20th september along with three other speakers: ambassador matan vilnai, ambassador amikam levy and mr. chen shuang.
 
the conference included elevator pitches from promising israeli companies, along with panel discussions on the market opportunities, partnerships and benefits between israel and china. the panel on china-israel m&a gave insights to potential investors and businesses interested in going into this area.
 
goforisrael 2016 concluded in the evening with a speech by mr. ronnie chan, chairman of hang lung properties.
 
throughout the day, over 650 one-on-one meetings were held between chinese investors and israeli start-ups. this provided a space for the parties to have more in-depth discussions about future prospects and partnerships.
