china everbright limited volunteers visit children with special needs in heep hong society

china everbright limited ("cel", stock code: 165.hk) volunteers visited the children with special needs in heep hong society since 2013 for 4 consecutive years. this year, through participating in various interactive games held at cheung muk tau holiday centre for the elderly in sai kung, cel volunteers expressed their love and care to the children at heep hong society special child care centre (catherine lo centre) suffered from autistic disorder and development delay, as well as gaining a better understanding of them.
 
during the event, 11 volunteers from cel took part in various group games with more than 20 children with special needs aged 3-6 years old. the instructors aimed to enhance the sensory stimulation of children with special needs through a series of games at the hall and grassland through different media (such as water, grass and bubble water), as well as training their muscle, improve their social skills and inspire their creativity. it was full of fun and laughter during the event, both the volunteers and children enjoyed themselves very much. in return, the instructors and children from the centre presented a hand-made thank-you card to the volunteers to express the gratitude for their love and care.
 
moreover, china everbright charitable foundation has sponsored the centre for this function. cel is a corporation committed to corporate social responsibility. in the past few years, cel has organised a number of volunteer services including a visit to elderly home, special children care centre, sheltered workshop, participation in everbright project’s large-scale activity and “sowers action challenging”, as well as had the parent-child visiting program to lifeline express eye-train hospital in shandong and heilongjiang. all these activities received good response and support from cel staff. cel will organise similar activities in the future and hope that these volunteer services can provide opportunities for its staff to serve the community in leisure time.
